Respiratory Therapist - 36 hours/week - Nights

Job Summary Location: Methodist Women’s Hospital, 707 N 190th Plaza, Elkhorn, NE. Schedule: Night shift 6:30p‑7:00a, 36hours per week, every 3rd weekend. Up to $25,000 sign‑on bonus and $10,000 tuition reimbursement. Responsibilities Perform routine and complex respiratory care modalities independently; demonstrate competency on all therapeutic modalities. Document procedures and assessments in the medical information system; update patient care plans and goals. Develop, review, and revise care plans as needed; interpret physician orders and recommend care per AARC guidelines. Communicate with the patient‑care team; provide verbal or written reports to on‑coming providers. Maintain continuity of care; assume charge responsibilities in the absence of a Lead therapist. Provide diagnostic procedures within scope for Heart Station, Pulmonology, and ABG labs. Work within protocol guidelines; review >95% of patients for protocol therapy and flag charts for changes. Assist Respiratory Care Department in achieving a patient satisfaction rate >95%; be helpful and respond to patient needs. Improve interdepartmental relations; educate nursing and ancillary staff on respiratory care procedures. Qualifications Education: Associate’s of Science Degree with a certificate in Respiratory Care required; Bachelor’s of Science with certificate preferred. Experience: 3‑6 months on‑the‑job experience. License/Certifications: R.R.T. within 12 months of accepting position; Respiratory Care Practitioner license for work state; BLS, ACLS, PALS within 6 months; NRP within 6 months. Skills & Knowledge Excellent written and verbal communication for accurate relay of recommendations. Strong ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Physical Requirements Weight demands: medium (exerting up to 50pounds). Physical activity includes climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting, balancing, carrying, crouching, keyboarding, lifting, pulling, pushing, repetitive motions, standing, stooping/bending, twisting, walking.
