Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

We're hiring an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a hospital in Phoenix, AZ. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. This role independently provides respiratory care, pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing, and manages mechanical ventilators in collaboration with physicians and licensed independent practitioners. You will assemble, maintain, troubleshoot and adjust respiratory equipment, perform patient assessments, document care, and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members. May supervise department staff and may float to other areas within the system where respiratory care is needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate or technical degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
• Proof of having passed the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). RRT required.
• Current Arizona respiratory license in good standing as required by state law.
• Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification required.
• Minimum of one year of clinical respiratory experience. Must be knowledgeable of clinical techniques, applications and equipment typically obtained through this experience.
• Ability to perform physical demands of direct patient care, including standing, walking, lifting up to 75 pounds, and using proper body mechanics.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with patients, families, staff and other healthcare personnel.
• In-home care roles only: valid driver's license and insurability under agency auto policy (if applicable).

Preferred Qualifications

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.
• NICU Level 3 experience preferred.
• Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 1800–0630.
• May be assigned to a variety of clinical areas throughout the system where respiratory care is needed.
