RN Charge Emergency Department Nights Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital, Temple, TX Great opportunity for Registered Nurse looking to join a high-level professional team in a Level One Emergency Department. Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin. Schedule: Full Time -Nights 7p-7A Unit Summary Busy ER in level One Trauma Hospital -Certified Chest Pain and Stroke Center. Average 220 visits per day. Our Registered Nurse (RN) staff are proficient in Stroke and STEMI activations and established care guidelines This is a fast-paced ER environment whose success is dependent on teamwork. We have 50 exam rooms and 6 trauma bays RNs work closely with ED Providers, Social Workers, Registration, etc. because we are truly in it together! The Emergency department primarily cares for adult populations, but we do care for pediatric patients as needed. Registered Nurses (RN) can be involved in Improvement projects, Shared Governance, department committees and councils. The main tasks involve evaluating patients, identifying nursing diagnoses, creating personalized care plans, and assessing patient responses. Essential Functions of the Role You will utilize nursing judgment and reasoning to make precise health assessments, ensuring these assessments align with standard practices. You will check nursing procedures. Use research to make changes. You will demonstrate caring practices by addressing both emotional and physical discomfort, aiming to foster healing and prevent excess distress. Key Success Factors Familiarity with nursing and patient care protocols and practices. Proven communication skills both in speech and writing. Exceptional problem-solving abilities coupled with smart critical thinking skills.
