Controller (Full-Time)

Salary: $150,000-$200,000 + Bonus, 401(k), Profit Sharing

Our client, a leading national provider of construction and building solutions, is seeking an experienced Controller to join their leadership team. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader with expertise in construction accounting, financial reporting, and team leadership .

Position Overview

The Controller will oversee all accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and cash management , while serving as a strategic partner to executive leadership. This role drives financial reporting, budgeting, and process improvements to support business growth and operational success.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Ensure accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models
• Analyze performance, track KPIs, and present insights to leadership
• Maintain internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance
• Oversee tax filings, audits, and union-related financial obligations
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members
• Partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Construction or project-based accounting experience strongly preferred
• Experience managing teams and driving process improvements
• Strong Excel and ERP system experience
