Temporary IT Support Associate – Level 1

Central Islip, NY | Full-Time | Temporary | On-Site $18.00 – $19.00 per hour

Quality Enclosures, a family-owned and operated company with over 30 years of success as a leading manufacturer of shower enclosures, is looking for a Temporary IT Support Associate – Level 1 to join our team.

This is a full-time, temporary position offered on a month-to-month basis for up to six months, depending on business needs. You will work closely with our IT team to resolve common technical issues and escalate more complex problems when necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or technical school coursework in a related discipline is a plus, but not required.
• Previous customer service, technical support, help desk, or computer-related experience is a plus, but not required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Friendly, patient, and customer-service-oriented attitude.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and task-prioritization skills.
• Strong note-taking and documentation habits.
• Ability to follow instructions and document troubleshooting steps.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and IT procedures.
• Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for assistance.
• Reliable transportation for occasional local travel between company locations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

1. End-User Support

• Respond to employee IT requests by phone, email, chat, or ticketing system.
• Create and update support tickets.
• Gather basic information about users’ issues.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service.

2. Basic Technical Troubleshooting

• Assist with password and account login issues.
• Provide basic Outlook and email configuration support.
• Support Microsoft 365 applications.
• Perform basic Windows troubleshooting.
• Install and uninstall approved software.
• Troubleshoot printers and scanners.
• Troubleshoot computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, and other peripherals.
• Provide basic support for tablets, phones, barcode scanners, and other company devices.
• Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi and network cable connections.
• Perform an initial diagnosis of hardware and software problems.

3. Incident Escalation

• Identify issues that require Level 2 or specialized IT support.
• Escalate tickets to the appropriate IT team member when necessary.
• Provide clear documentation of troubleshooting steps already performed.
• Follow up on escalated issues when requested.

4. Remote Support

• Use approved remote-support tools to assist users when appropriate.
• Follow company security procedures when accessing users’ computers remotely.

5. Documentation and Follow-Up

• Document troubleshooting steps and solutions in the ticketing system.
• Maintain accurate and detailed support records.
• Follow up with users to confirm that issues have been resolved.
• Update tickets with relevant information and close completed requests.
