As a Dietary Cook, you will help prepare and serve high-quality meals that meet the nutritional and dietary needs of our residents while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and prescribed diets.
• Follow therapeutic, modified, and special diet requirements as directed.
• Ensure meals are properly portioned, prepared, and served on schedule.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation area.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
• Follow proper food storage, labeling, and rotation procedures.
• Monitor and document food temperatures and production records.
• Assist with inventory, stocking, and receiving food deliveries.
• Work closely with the dietary team to ensure timely and efficient meal service.
• Follow all applicable federal, state, local, and facility food safety and sanitation regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, hospital, restaurant, or commercial kitchen preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to prepare meals according to therapeutic and modified diets.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Food Handler Card preferred or ability to obtain as required.
