Job Overview Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking an experienced litigation attorney to work through its alternative‑track contract attorney and staffing program, DWTSurge. The selected attorney will be seconded to one of the firm’s premier technology clients to support commercial litigation matters. Attorneys must be located in the Bay Area, hold active California bar admission, and be dedicated exclusively to the client assignment. Responsibilities Manage complex litigation for multiple client products and businesses. Handle consumer class action litigation, including trial and arbitration. Maintain strong communication with lawyers, business professionals, and clients to meet objectives. Work independently, exercising good judgment while collaborating with team members. Coordinate multiple matters with competing deadlines and respond to urgent requests with minimal supervision. Adapt quickly to new technologies and client data management methods. Work on‑site in the client’s Bay Area office for full‑time hours; anticipate weeks of fluctuating workload. Qualifications 5+ years of litigation experience in an in‑house setting or with a large law firm. Residency and active bar admission in California. Demonstrated experience managing all phases of consumer class action litigation. Strong interest in working with global technology clients. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong time‑ and task‑management skills; ability to produce high‑quality work with minimal supervision. Proactive, calm, and composed in stressful situations. Availability to work on‑site in the Bay Area for the full duration of the secondment and flexibility for fluctuating hours. Contract Details Initial term: 6‑month contract, with possible extension or renewal (not guaranteed). Full‑time on‑site work required; hours may vary week to week depending on client needs. Monthly salary commensurate with experience—see compensation section. Eligible for benefits under the DWTSurge program. Compensation Monthly salary range for a 6‑month contract in California is commensurate with an annual salary of $204,000–240,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on education, training, experience, and other permissible factors.
