Fleet Mechanic

Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons. Description 30% of the Job: Perform Routine Maintenance Ensure that all vehicles and equipment in the fleet are operating efficiently and safely by conducting regular inspections and preventive maintenance. This includes oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and the replacement of worn or damaged parts. 40% of the Job: Troubleshoot and Repair Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles and perform necessary repairs to engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and electrical systems. This role requires an in-depth knowledge of automotive systems and the ability to efficiently resolve issues to minimize downtime. This includes both diesel and small engine repair. 10% of the Job: Regulatory Compliance, Record Keeping, and Reporting Ensure all vehicles meet local, state, and federal regulations for safety and maintenance. Regularly conduct Virginia state inspections. Accurately log all maintenance and repair activities and maintain inventory records of parts and supplies. The ability to compile and present reports on the fleet’s maintenance status and any issues is crucial for planning and budgeting purposes. 10% of the Job: Parts Inventory Management Oversee parts and tools inventory, ensuring necessary supplies are always available. Monitor inventory levels and reorder as necessary. 10% of the Job: Billing and Receiving Payments Create detailed invoices for work performed, process payments, and maintain organized transaction records. Minimum Requirements Education: High School Diploma or GED. Associate’s degree or certification in automotive technology preferred.
