Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Operating Room – Maryland

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Baltimore, Maryland

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Weekend program – EVERY Saturday and Sunday, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM). Schedule includes 1 on-call shift per week and 2 eight-hour weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period. Block scheduling available for consecutive weekend coverage.

• General Operating Room position at a high-volume facility averaging approximately 40 cases per day
• 1:1 patient ratio with exposure to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations
• Advanced technology environment supporting minimally invasive techniques, robotics, evidence-based care, and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Comprehensive case mix including Trauma, ENT, Colorectal, Plastics, Neurosurgery, Surgical Oncology, Laparoscopic Procedures, Urology, Ophthalmology, GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Vascular, and Thoracic procedures
• Electronic medical records managed through Cerner/Surginet
• Teaching hospital environment with surgical education opportunities; scrubs provided

Requirements

• Active Maryland or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required
• Level II trauma experience required; Level I trauma and teaching hospital experience strongly preferred
• BLS certification required
• 16-hour Maryland-approved trauma course required
• 8 hours annual trauma CEUs required
• ACLS, NIH, and PALS certifications preferred
• Proficiency required in emergency OR response, fire safety, malignant hyperthermia protocols, and latex allergy precautions
• Experience with electrosurgical units, fiber-optic equipment, and Steris equipment required
• Case experience must include thoracic procedures, ENT procedures, endoscopic procedures, general surgery, gynecology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and trauma
• First-time travelers and local candidates accepted
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)

Additional Information

Float Requirements: Clinicians may float as needed within scope to meet facility needs.

Time Off Policy: Requests for 14 days or less are auto-approved. Time off requests are restricted during winter and summer holidays (alternating years required) and high-demand days. No requests accepted after offer acceptance.

Orientation: Virtual modules completed on first day (non-billable; approximately 8 hours for new starts).

Assignment Details: Maximum assignment length is 365 days regardless of time off between contracts. A separation period of at least six months is required to return as a travel nurse.
