Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed patient examinations and diligently review medical histories to ensure tailored care.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood tests and imaging studies to reach informed clinical decisions.
• Diagnose and treat a range of acute illnesses and health conditions, ensuring timely interventions to improve health outcomes.
• Create and execute comprehensive treatment plans for patients with chronic conditions, providing ongoing monitoring and support.
• Prescribe appropriate medications and evaluate their efficacy in patients, adapting treatment as necessary for optimal health.
• Maintain meticulous patient records, documentation, and scheduling to promote organized and accessible care pathways.
• Educate patients and their families on illness management, prevention strategies, and healthy lifestyle choices, fostering active participation in their care.
• Oversee the overall health and wellness of assigned patient populations, proactively addressing their health concerns.
• Encourage and promote preventive health practices within the community and among patients.
• Participate in continuous professional development and contribute to research initiatives relevant to our practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our surgical center serves a diverse array of patients, ranging from individuals seeking urgent medical attention to those requiring ongoing management of chronic diseases. The ideal candidate will have the ability to connect with patients from different backgrounds, understanding their unique needs, and providing culturally competent care. Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is highly advantageous as it helps bridge communication gaps and enhances patient interactions.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field required.
• Experience as a Physician Assistant with at least one year of clinical experience preferred.
• Possession of a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.), or equivalent degree.
• Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Florida.
• A valid DEA license for prescribing controlled substances.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in an urgent care or surgical setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and medical documentation systems.
• Experience in patient education and counseling, especially regarding chronic disease management.

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary range of USD 140,000 to 180,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience. In addition to a base salary, you will have access to an annual quality incentive with a target of $50,000, and a comprehensive benefits package through Optum Partner Services.
