We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Transport Vehicle Service Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, values teamwork, and is committed to safety, reliability, and excellent customer service.

What You'll Do

As a Transport Vehicle Service Technician, you will help ensure our fleet operates safely and efficiently by performing inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on university transit vehicles and related equipment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Performing daily safety and service inspections
• Diagnosing routine mechanical and system issues
• Conducting preventative maintenance and repairs
• Cleaning, detailing, fueling, and road testing fleet vehicles
• Maintaining accurate service records and inspection documentation
• Assisting with safe fleet operations and supporting transportation services as needed

This role may also require safely operating a loaded passenger bus in service when necessary.

Conditions of employment include passing a pre-employment criminal background check, possession of a valid New Mexico Commercial Driver's License (CDL), compliance with DOT regulations, and successful completion of a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least three years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Preferred qualifications include experience working within a scheduled transportation system, performing routine vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance, and operating passenger buses as needed.

The position is located on the main campus in Albuquerque, NM, in the Transportation Support department. It is a regular full-time staff position with a pay range of $18.27 - $23.50, depending on experience. This is a benefits eligible position with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
