Fleet Manager
Lead, guide, direct, monitor and manage performance of employees. Provide coaching, counseling and appropriate discipline and training. Ensure appropriate paperwork is completed and timely processing occurs.
Manage and oversee shop operations and multiple locations
Conduct Fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met
Assist in creating a positive team oriented environment through employee development, motivation, coaching and counseling
Prepare safety documentation required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company and any other Federal, State or local authorities
Ensure safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements
Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the Fleet Services shops through regular inspections and preventative maintenance programs
Ensure shops are adequately staffed and personnel are properly trained
Responsible for controlling costs and expenses, manage Fleet budgets and account for P&L data
Responsible for all hiring, employee counseling and training and terminations; assuring they are processed according to proper guidelines
Regular attendance is required.

High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background; Technical school preferred
10 years management experience in the fleet maintenance industry and personnel management preferred
Knowledge of FMCSA rules and regulations
Must be familiar with ATA parts system codes
Possess mechanical ability and interest in all types of machinery, to include tractors (International part number scheme), trailer, forklifts, Moffett and engines with the ability to trouble shoot and make decisions to correct problems
Must have experience on various commercial trucks (including International, Freightliner, Kenworth, etc.) Cummins engines, trailers, Hyster and Moffett forklifts
Must have valid Driver's License
Must have an acceptable MVR
Must have good computer skills (AS400 & MS Office a plus)
Must possess basic math and typing skills
Possess excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills
Must be organized
Must have management abilities and skills
Strong time management abilities
Must have proper skills relating to the hiring and termination of employees
Must possess proven leadership, strong team building, and interpersonal relationship skills
Must have a strong work ethic and good problem solving skills
Ability to travel required
Must be willing to work any shift, including nights and weekends in any weather condition; flexible work schedule
Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job
Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct
Must be able to interact well with others
Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting
Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities
Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check
Must be authorized to work in the United States
