About the Role:The Unit Manager - is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and clinical management of a designated nursing unit to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. This role involves leading and mentoring nursing staff, coordinating patient care activities, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies. The Unit Manager collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of residents. Additionally, the position requires managing resources efficiently, including staffing, budgeting, and supplies, to optimize unit performance. Ultimately, the Unit Manager plays a critical role in fostering a supportive and safe environment that promotes positive health outcomes and resident satisfaction.Minimum Qualifications:Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting.Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare environment.Strong knowledge of nursing practices, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare management software.Advanced certifications such as Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) or similar.Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies and regulatory survey processes.Excellent conflict resolution and team-building skills.Responsibilities:Supervise and support nursing staff to ensure adherence to clinical standards and best practices.Coordinate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers while maintaining accurate and timely documentation.Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and families.Monitor and evaluate patient care quality, addressing any issues promptly to maintain high standards.Manage staffing schedules, conduct performance evaluations, and provide ongoing training and development.Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including safety protocols and infection control measures.Oversee inventory management and ordering of medical supplies to maintain adequate stock levels.Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to facilitate effective communication.Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to policy development within the unit.Skills:The Unit Manager utilizes clinical expertise and leadership skills daily to guide nursing staff in delivering compassionate and effective patient care. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring clear information flow between patients, families, and healthcare providers. Analytical skills are applied to monitor patient outcomes, manage resources, and implement quality improvement initiatives. Proficiency with healthcare technology supports accurate documentation and efficient unit operations. Additionally, problem-solving and decision-making abilities enable the Unit Manager to address challenges promptly and maintain a positive care environment.Required Education and ExperienceMust possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State3 years’ experience in a Supervisor role in healthcare, Long-Term Care experience preferred.Minimum six (6) months experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices preferredMust be knowledgeable of reimbursement regulations and nursing practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing facility administration.Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actionMust be able to communicate policies, procedures, regulations, reports, etc., to personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government agenciesStrong utilization knowledge of Point Click CareComputer literacy skills (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, Internet)Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyParadigm Healthcare believes that by empowering each other, we can achieve more and provide better care to every patient we serve.
