Surgical Technologist

Role Overview Provides surgical technology support for direct and indirect patient care, assisting surgeons during operative/invasive procedures. Acts as a resource, mentors peers, and trains new technologists and students, often serving as an informal lead. Utilizes certification and education to improve team performance and efficiency. Qualifications Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days (AHA) Associate's degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology Open to new graduates Key Responsibilities Prepare instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures, ensuring readiness and functionality Set up sterile fields and assist during surgeries, adapting to surgeon preferences and case needs Scrub on a variety of procedures, demonstrating confidence and proficiency, including running Mayo stands independently Anticipate intraoperative needs, manage unexpected events, and ensure patient safety and privacy Mentor staff and students, fostering team collaboration and effective communication Participate in on-call duties, respond promptly, and adhere to hospital policies Contribute to quality improvement, conflict resolution, and a positive work environment Skills & Attributes Critical thinking and job knowledge to elevate performance Effective communication and teamwork skills Adaptability to changing needs and procedures Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and confidently #J-18808-Ljbffr Provident Behavioral Health
