Ironworker #22-00195We're hiring experienced Structural Ironworkers and apprentices for a variety of large scale, long term new construction projects in the Jacksonville, NC area! Ironworkers will be responsible for raising, placing, and uniting iron or steel girders, columns, and other structural members to form completed structures or structural framework. Ideal candidates will have an excellent safety record! We're looking for reliable and hard-working individuals that take pride in their work!Responsibilities:Read specifications and blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials requiredConnect columns, beams, and girders with bolts, following blueprints and instructions from supervisorsHoist steel beams, girders, and columns into place, using cranes, or signal hoisting equipment operators to lift and position structural membersBolt aligned structural steel members in position for permanent riveting, bolting, or welding into placeGuide girders or other structural steel members to position them into placeCut, bend, and weld steel pieces, using metal shears, torches and welding equipmentFasten structural steel members to hoist cables, using chains, cables, or ropeForce structural steel members into final positions, using turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks, and hand toolsDismantle and assemble structures and equipmentRequirements:Valid driver's licensePre-Employment ScreeningRelevant Experience 2+ years, 5+ years preferredClean safety recordOwn basic handtoolsRelated keywords: iron worker, ironworker, structural welder, structural welding, welder, welding, 1g, 2g, 3g, 4g, 5g, 6g, AWS, commercial, industrial, apprentice, construction, new construction, install, project, on-site, safety, skilled, skilled trade, craft, skilled craft
