Cath Lab Tech

- Shifts: 10hr

Job Summary:

-To assist the Cardiologists in performing invasive and diagnostic/interventional cardiac/vascular and electrophysiologic procedures as well as technical hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation using automated techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients  Take a patient's medical history, explain the procedure, and position the patient and equipment to take the image
• Operate equipment  Use computerized and manual equipment to take images, such as X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, fluoroscopy, or sonography
• Evaluate images  Review the images to ensure they are clear enough for a doctor to diagnose
• Document patient care  Record patient medical histories, enter patient data into computers, and maintain patient records
• C ommunicate with patients and doctors  Explain procedures and test results to patients, and inform doctors of patient conditions
• Protect patients and staff  Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff, and follow infection control policies
• Assist with other tasks  Help with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and restocking supplies

Requirements:  

• BLS, ACLS, CCI, RCIS and ARRT R  license in state of assignment  required. 
• Minimum 2-year(s) exp.
  
• Strong clinical, assessment, and communication skills.

Work Environment & Demands:

• Hospital settings (Med-Surg units, post-op recovery, step-down).
• Physical demands include standing, lifting patients/equipment, and stress management.
