BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, Common diagnoses/Types of patients Respiratory distress, DKA, renal failure, surgical cases requiring ICU post-op (vascular, oncology, Flaps), Non-stemi post codes; Cardiac, cardiac surgical (TVAR, CABG, etc), medical ICU population; Stroke, neuro, trauma, ortho, surgical, medical Experience or 'Must have' skills General critical care experience, perform 12-lead EKG, flexible, adaptable and good teamwork; 1 year trauma/surgical and neuro critical care experience preferred, flexible, good Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips Vasopressors, Inotropes, Sedatives, Analgesics, Metabolic, Specilized Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? no Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios 1 critical care tech Hospitalist or Intensivist in house yes RT in ICU 24/7 Yes RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, vents, Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? No - RNs read their own strips. Philips monitors. Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) Self scheduling Weekend Requirements Yes - Full and part-time employees are expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule, aligning with department needs, unit staffing plans, and ensuring equitable distribution among all staff Holiday Requirements Yes Is there a call or standby requirement?
