Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital requiring 2+ years of OR experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Operating Room unit within a Level I Trauma, teaching hospital with 228 staffed beds
• 9 operating rooms
• Day shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM
• No floating between like units required, though candidates may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• On-call requirements include 2 night calls and 3 weekend calls per month
• Night call shifts are 11 PM to 7 AM during the week
• Weekend call shifts are 7 AM-3 PM, 3 PM-11 PM, or 11 PM-7 AM
• Uses SIS charting system
• Scrubs provided by facility

Requirements

• Active RN license in DC required
• BLS certification required
• CNOR and CST certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience in the majority of the following surgical specialties preferred: Neurology (ALIF, anterior cervical fusion, cervical fusions, craniotomy, kyphoplasty, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, XLIF), General Surgery (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, thyroidectomy, Whipple), Orthopedics (arthroscopy, total joint replacement), Ophthalmology (cataract extraction/implant, eye trauma, glaucoma surgery), and Robotic Surgery (colorectal, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, neurological, orthopedic, otolaryngologic, TORS, urologic)
• Two supervisor references required for consideration
• Must not have been previously employed at this facility within the past year

• Work in a fast-paced Level I Trauma teaching hospital environment
• Provide perioperative nursing care across a broad range of surgical specialties including neurology, general surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, and robotic surgery
• Located near the Shaw/Howard University Metro station with access to bus routes 70, 71, 90, 92, and 96
