Environmental Care Specialist

Summary The Environmental Care Specialist performs studies involving budgeting, costing, staffing, health systems, etc., for Environmental Management Service and formulates recommendations for the Chief and Assistant Chief - EMS concerning these areas. Qualifications To apply for this position, you must have the following qualifications: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS 9) in Federal Service that includes performing the following duties: contracting experience and vendor performance monitoring; shows experience managing multiple-service contracts and budgets; audits and ability to interpret inspection data; supports budget formulation/execution or ongoing financial management; skill in healthcare administration or supporting a hospital\'s facilities/operations division; uses knowledge of financial management, cost accounting, budgeting, and audit principles; coordinates inspection/rounds/deficiency tracking; gives presentations to leadership, facilitating meetings, or customer service excellence in a healthcare or federal setting; and provides guidance on services or hospital operations (sanitation, textile care, pest management, waste/recycling). OR EDUCATION (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): I have successfully completed Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. - if related OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): I have equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate-level education (beyond 18 semester hours) and specialized experience, as described above, which meet the total experience requirements for this grade level. The education portion must include graduate courses directly related to the work of this position.
