Bookkeeper Columbus, OH

Our Bookkeeper will provide day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting support to ensure accurate and timely financial records for our clients. This position requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills to coordinate with clients, peers, and management while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles, and the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently. Responsibilities Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records Record and categorize financial transactions Perform bank and credit card reconciliations Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable Review financial activity for accuracy and completeness Prepare and maintain general ledger entries Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements Maintain supporting documentation for financial transactions Assist with payroll-related accounting entries and reconciliations Communicate with clients regarding missing information, discrepancies, and bookkeeping questions Manage client information requests and deliverables Identify and research account discrepancies Assist with preparation of information needed for tax filings and year-end accounting Ensure established quality standards and deadlines are maintained Collaborate with clients, staff, and management Provide support on special accounting and bookkeeping projects as needed Desired Skills and Experience Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, including debits, credits, and general ledger accounting Experience with bank and account reconciliations Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with team members at various levels Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Strong problem-solving and research skills Superior attention to detail with strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills Ability to manage multiple clients, priorities, and deadlines Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with QuickBooks Online QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification Experience managing bookkeeping for multiple clients or businesses Experience preparing monthly financial statements Experience with month-end and year-end closing procedures Payroll accounting experience Experience working directly with clients Experience identifying and correcting bookkeeping discrepancies Benefits At our company, education and professional development are important parts of our commitment to employee success.
