Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Float Pool

Location

Charleston, SC | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend required | Holiday rotation required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as a float pool RN across multiple medical surgical floors within the main hospital and a secondary tower
• Adapt to varying patient ratios depending on the unit assigned at time of float
• Participate in every-other-weekend scheduling and required holiday rotation
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic health records
• During hurricane season (June–November), be prepared to participate in emergency response team assignments as directed

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN License or Multi-State/Compact State RN License (SC license must be active prior to start date)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Previous permanent or PRN staff must have been separated from the facility system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center, teaching facility, or Magnet-designated hospital
• Prior float pool or multi-unit nursing experience
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system
