Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an AI Engineer to join a large pharmaceutical client in Tarrytown, NY (3 days onsite, 2 days remote). This individual will join a small, highly technical team consisting of two developers and one architect focused on delivering scalable AI solutions that support critical Research IT initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings 10-12 years of software engineering experience, including 5-7+ years building, deploying, and supporting production AI/ML applications. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, writing code, and owning solutions from architecture through production deployment. The manager is seeking a strong individual contributor rather than someone coming from a people management background.

This engineer will partner with developers, scientists, and business stakeholders to design and deliver enterprise AI solutions leveraging machine learning, large language models (LLMs), agentic AI frameworks, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). They will contribute to both solution architecture and hands-on development while ensuring applications align with responsible AI practices, governance requirements, and engineering guardrails.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of building and delivering at least two production AI applications end-to-end, from solution design and development through deployment, monitoring, and ongoing support. Strong Python expertise and experience translating complex business requirements into scalable, production-ready solutions are essential. Pay is around 70-75/hr.

Skills and Requirements

-10-12 years of software engineering experience, including 7-8+ years building and deploying production AI/ML solutions.

-Deep expertise in Generative AI, Agentic AI, and enterprise AI strategy across diverse business domains.

-Strong command of Python and modern AI/ML technologies, including LLMs, machine learning frameworks, and cloud-native AI services.

-Experience architecting and deploying multi-agent systems, RAG solutions, AI assistants, NLP platforms, and predictive models.

-Hands-on expertise with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, MCP, vector databases, and AWS/Azure AI ecosystems.

-Demonstrated ability to translate complex business challenges into scalable, high-impact AI products and platforms.

-Experience working across multiple business domains including pharma
