This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in a collaborative environment and are committed to delivering high-quality, compliant coding. Job Type: Full-time Location: Remote Schedule: Monday to Friday Note: Candidates with a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) may be considered if they have extensive inpatient/DRG experience (7–10 years). Key Responsibilities: Assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, MS-DRG, APR-DRG, POA, and discharge status codes based on thorough medical record review. Evaluate physician documentation and initiate queries when clarification is needed, in accordance with facility guidelines. Meet or exceed productivity and quality benchmarks. Review and correct coding tasks as necessary. Collaborate with the coding team to improve coding outcomes. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum of three years of facility inpatient (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding experience. Active credential: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). Strong understanding of official coding guidelines and DRG assignment. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion. Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and coding platforms. Analytical problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Knowledge of compliance standards and regulatory requirements.
