Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician

Location: Alexandria, LA Schedule: 6 AM 3:30 PM From gear jams to power trips, you handle it all. When machines break down, you know exactly what to do. Even better you know how to keep them running in the first place. We are looking for a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician who wants steady work, real respect, and paychecks that match their skills.

Qualifications:

• Education: One-year certificate from a college or technical school preferred
• Experience: Minimum two years of industrial maintenance experience required
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Experience with hydraulics, electrical systems, pumps, valves, and welding
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Basic mechanical knowledge in a wood industry environment preferred
• Experience with fabrication and welding of various metals (including pipe welding)
• Strong communication skills

Day in the Life: Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician

• Inspect, service, repair, and construct plant processing equipment, including structures, utilities, loaders, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, mechanical systems, and pressure vessels throughout the plant.
• Utilize welding and fabrication tools to alter, repair, and fabricate processing equipment.
• Manage inventory of serviceable parts required to maintain equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance programs established by the company.
• Document and report maintenance work performed and advise on future maintenance needs in a timely manner.
• Participate in and contribute to company safety programs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Starting pay: Experience based
• Designated smoking areas. No cell phones allowed on site
• PPE provided (employee must have metatarsal boots)
