Mechanical Engineer II

TheprimarygoalofaDesignEngineerIIistosupporttheengineeringandpreconstructioncoordinationofprojects.Abilitytomanagemultipleaspectsofaprojectfrominitialdesignthroughcompletionwithminimalsupervision. Responsibilities DesigncomplexHVACand/orPlumbingsystems,includingloadcalculations,energymodeling,andequipmentselection. Developdetailedductworkandpipinglayoutsandensurecompliancewithprojectspecifications. Prepareandreviewengineeringdrawings,specifications,andsubmittalsforaccuracyandcompleteness. Manageprojecttimelines,budgets,andresourceseffectivelytoensureon-timeandon-budgetdelivery. Provideinputduringprojectplanningandexecutionphasestooptimizedesigns. Collaboratewithcross-functionalteamstoresolvedesignchallengesandimproveoverallprojectoutcomes. Participateindesign-buildmeetingsandclientpresentationstorepresenttheengineeringteam. Conductsitevisitstoverifydesignfeasibility,gatherdata,andoverseeinstallationquality. Assistwithresolvingtechnicalissuesduringconstructionandcommissioningphases. Evaluateexistingmechanicalsystemsandrecommendimprovementsorupgrades. Ensurealldesignsadheretocodes,standards,andregulations. StayinformedofadvancementsinHVACtechnology,codes,andindustrybestpractices. MinimumQualifications 3-5years’experienceinthecommercialconstructionspace Bachelor’sdegreeinmechanicalengineeringorarelatedfield. EngineerinTraining(EIT)certificatepreferred, butnotrequired. Excellentunderstandingofengineeringfundamentals Workingknowledgeofsystemtypes,equipment,installationstandardsandproceduresisnecessary. Abilitytoassumeresponsibility,interfaceandcommunicatewithothersisessential. MustbefullyversedinlocalandStatebuildingcodes. ProficiencyinTrace700,AutoCADVersion2023andotherdesignsoftware. Revit2024orBIMexperienceispreferred Priorexperiencewithmechanicalcontractororengineeringconsultantpreferred.
