POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT - ANNISTON CITY SCHOOLS POSITION: Elementary Teacher REPORTS TO: Principal TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 187 days ~ 9 months SALARY: Based Upon District Salary Schedule PRIMARY FUNCTION: To help students learn subject matter and skills in a classroom setting that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible members of society. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Appropriate Alabama Teacher Certification * Highly Qualified (HQT) Status * Teaching experience preferred * Ability to work effectively with students PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES * Determines individual and class needs. * Establishes objectives and plans learning experiences. * Implements activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to meet objectives. * Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere. * Exhibits positive human relations skills. * Evaluates positive human relations skills. * Communicates with parents/guardians, colleagues and community groups. * Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication. * Maintains and submits records and reports. * Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy and state and federal rules and regulations. * Engages in personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and leadership. * Any and all duties that may be assigned by the principal.
