Miller-Thomas Gyekis (MTG Roofing) has been in business for 68+ years. And is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Commercial Flat Roofing/ sheet metal Estimator to join our growing team. This position is responsible for reviewing bid opportunities, performing detailed takeoffs, developing accurate labor and material estimates, preparing competitive proposals, and supporting a profitable handoff to operations.

The ideal candidate has commercial flat/slope/ sheet metal roofing, and exterior metal estimating experience and understands how drawings, specifications, site conditions, labor production, material pricing, equipment, and project risk affect the final bid.

Responsibilities are:

• Review plans, specifications, addenda, bid instructions, and contract documents to clearly define the roofing scope of work.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for commercial flat /slope/ sheet metal roofing systems, including insulation, cover boards, membrane, flashing, edge metal, SSR ,walk pads, drains, curbs, penetrations, expansion joints, and related accessories. Exterior metal panel projects.
• Prepare complete estimates for labor, materials, equipment, freight, subcontractors, permits, and other job costs.
• Price commercial roofing systems such as TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, built-up roofing, coatings, and related restoration or repair work.
• Price commercial exterior metal panel projects. Including ACM, composite panels
• Obtain and compare supplier, manufacturer, subcontractor, and equipment quotations.
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, alternates, schedule constraints, access limitations, phasing requirements, and site-specific risks.
• Prepare detailed bid proposals, bid forms, scope letters, clarifications, exclusions, and value-engineering options.
• Coordinate with general contractors, owners, architects, manufacturers, suppliers, and MTG operations personnel throughout the bidding process.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and project turnover meetings as needed.
• Support the project-management and production teams with a complete estimate handoff, including labor assumptions, material quantities, scope notes, subcontractor coverage, and anticipated job challenges.
• Maintain organized estimating files, quote documentation, bid calendars, and historical cost information.
• Assist with post-bid review, buyout support, change-order pricing, budget updates, and cost-control efforts.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating commercial flat/slope/metal roofing projects is preferred.
• Experience estimating commercial exterior siding projects including ACM , composite panels is preferred.
• Strong understanding of commercial roofing assemblies, installation methods, flashing details, drainage requirements, insulation systems, and manufacturer requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, roof plans, specifications, details, bid forms, and contract documents.
• Experience performing accurate material and labor takeoffs from plans and specifications.
• Working knowledge of labor production rates, material waste factors, equipment needs, freight, subcontractor costs, and jobsite logistics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating/takeoff software.
• Strong communication, organization, negotiation, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced commercial construction environment.
• Field roofing, superintendent, or foreman experience is strongly preferred.

Pay will be dependant on experience.
