Job Details Job Location: LEAP @ TJMS - Lodi, NJ 07644 Position Type: Part Time Salary Range: $52.00 - $56.00 Hourly Title: Site Coordinator- ACADEMIC SCHOOL YEAR & SUMMER PROGRAM Supervisor: LEAP/WAZE Director, Executive Director/CEO Exempt/Nonexempt: Non Exempt Position Overview Under the direction of the Program Director and in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lower Bergen County, the Site Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the daily oversight and implementation of the Nita M. Lowey 21st CCLC program -WAZE. The Site Coordinator supervises staff as they implement a wide-ranging program plan that helps nurture and harvest the academic potential of Club members. The individual will role model our core values of honesty, respect and responsibility and work daily to develop personal and meaningful relationships with staff, volunteers, program participants and others. Duties and Responsibilities Experience in supervising staff in an after-school setting. Experience/knowledge in developing and implementing enrichment programs that nurture the potential of youth. Knowledge in providing leadership and support to staff with diverse experience and education levels. Meets individually with staff periodically to provide support and feedback. Is accountable and knowledgeable of NJDCF childcare licensing. Must be able to pass a background check. Consisting of two NJDCF required checks and two organizational checks. Annually completes 20 hours of training, as required by NJDCF. Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol test at the employer’s request and comply with a “Drug Free” policy. Must be able to provide a valid (acceptable) identification for the completion of the employment eligibility verification information in accordance with the I-9. Flexible and able to adapt to changes in the work environment. Must have reliable transportation to commute, to and from work, to program locations, and for activities (such as meetings, classes, and workshops in and out of the immediate area). An understanding of the Club’s mission and values. Ability to critically assess situations, solve problems, and work effectively under stressful situations. Ability to understand and carry out varied instructions and procedures with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate effectively and exhibit excellent relationship-building skills with all levels of employees, management, and students (families). Reviews staff lesson plans and provides feedback in a constructive and supportive manner. Attend all required staff meetings and training. Communicate directly with parents/guardians in discussing and addressing students’ issues/concerns. Knowledgeable in creating Google Forms, Excel Spreadsheets, PowerPoint, etc. Physical DemandsStanding, walking, run/jog (occasionally during program), leaning, bending, sitting. Must be able to lift 30lbs. Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities) The essential function or duties are provided for illustration only and may include other reasonable tasks as assigned for the good of the Club. Assists in leading, managing, and supervising BGC staff at Wallington Jr/Sr High School. Maintain confidentiality of members, employees, and Club information. Able to manage groups of students in the out-of-school-time environment. Approach to work is one that is supportive, nurturing, and inclusive for all. Arrive daily for scheduled workday on time and prepared for work shift. Must clock in or complete a time sheet daily upon arrival and at the end of the work shift. Does not use personal electronic devices during work shifts (i.e. cellphones, earphones, etc.) Maintains a professional appearance by dressing in business attire, per company policy. Conducts business using a customer-centered approach. Leads/Co-leads regularly scheduled staff meetings. Participates in staff meetings, surveys, and questionnaires as needed by the program or organization. Assists Program Director as needed to ensure the successful outcome of the Club’s operations, mission, and grant requirements. Contribute to creating a positive Club environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes. A. Academic Success B. Good Character & Citizenship C. Healthy Lifestyles Manages student and staff conflict, problems, and emergencies, analyzes situations, comprehends problems and draws a reliable conclusion, taking appropriate action without waiting for direction. Helps organize/present to the school communities, school boards, parents/guardians as needed. Helps plan parent events, advisory board meetings, etc. Acts as a role model by their actions in both their professional and private life. As a role model, provide members guidance and mentoring to help them make appropriate choices regarding their educational, personal, physical, social, emotional, and career decisions. Contributes to ensuring a healthy and safe environment for members. Contributes to ensuring that facilities, equipment, and supplies are maintained. Reports any suspected abuse to the proper authorities, to ensure that the proper steps in reporting and documentation are completed. Adheres to all policies and procedures. Assume other duties as assigned. Education / Certifications Wallington School District teacher - preferred Must attain CPR/First Aid and Child Abuse certifications upon request. Base hours Academic year is classified by the months between September through June. Monday through Friday between 2:42 pm-5:42 pm. Up to 15 hours per week. Working conditions These tasks are to be performed at Wallington JR/SR High School, in Wallington, NJ. Occasional visits to other BGC sites, offsite trips, activities, meetings/training may require the site coordinator to work offsite.
