Associate Fashion Designer

Our client, an American retailer that owns and operates 4 brands that are well known, is looking for someone to join their team as an Associate Fashion Designer. This role is in New York City!

This is a 6-month W2 contract with benefits offered

In this role, you will support the design team in developing seasonal collections across knits, sweaters, and accessories. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for fashion, strong technical design skills, and an eye for color, trend, and product development.

What You Will Be Doing

• Support the Design Lead with seasonal fabric orders, including color-level management and tracking
• Assist with black-and-white sketching and concept development for new styles
• Create and update colored sketches/renderings for presentations and line development
• Attend and contribute to cross-functional meetings with design, production, and merchandising teams
• Develop and maintain Tech Packs with accuracy and attention to detail
• Partner closely with Production and Technical Design teams to ensure smooth handoff from concept to execution

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred
• 3+ years of design or assistant design experience, preferably in knits, sweaters, or accessories
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and other design tools
• Strong sketching, color sense, and technical package creation skills
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
