Here, you will work alongside a passionate and dedicated team, receive endless support and appreciation, and build a rewarding career with one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the world.The Pharmacy Technician – Sterile Products supports one of Cleveland Clinic's highest-volume inpatient pharmacies at Main Campus, serving a broad range of areas including general inpatient care, oncology, sterile products, operating room pharmacy, and pediatrics. Caregivers rotate through various pharmacy functions, including medication delivery throughout Main Campus, carousel operations, triaging medication requests, answering phones, and managing MAR messages to support pharmacy teams across the hospital. This role involves frequent movement throughout different departments and offers opportunities for cross-training across multiple pharmacy areas, including IV, ambulatory, specialty pharmacy, and homecare, based on department needs and caregiver competencies.A caregiver in this position will:Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding.Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner.Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training.Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:High School Diploma/GEDSix months of related experience OR completion of a Pharmacy Technician ProgramUpon hire, you must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA).In addition to the above requirement, upon hire, it is required to hold an active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician TraineeUnderstanding of algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compoundsPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Six months of inpatient hospital and IV Sterile Compounding experience.Physical Requirements:Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, walking, reaching, stretching and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing, and compounding.Personal Protective Equipment:• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.The policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
