Inpatient Social Worker

The Inpatient Social Worker will be responsible for providing quality case management and psychotherapeutic services to patients and their families. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: developing and maintaining effective working relationships with Admissions, the Business Office, Physicians, and Nursing Staff; conducting psychosocial assessments to document history and identify preliminary issues for treatment in a timely manner; providing groups and family process-oriented therapies as well as conducting educational groups for patients and family members; participating in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and patient safety; and formulating and noting the initial discharge plan on psychosocial within 72 hours of admission.

Qualifications: Master's Degree in a behavioral science or equivalent master's degree in a recognized mental health field. Clinical and administrative experience in an inpatient and outpatient mental health setting preferred. Possess general knowledge of all areas of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. Age-Specific Competencies: Adults. Licensure/Certification: CPR and CPI certification training provided upon hire. Other: Ability to relate well with treatment professionals; ability to mobilize and coordinate staff resources; skills in dealing courteously with the public and individuals within the organization and counseling centers; organizational skills; ability to keep information highly confidential; ability to meet deadlines; basic data entry skills preferred; time management skills. HIPAA: Has access to and adds information to the Medical Record. May only access medical record of assigned patients.
