Job Description **Lab Technician ** **Location: Solon, OH ** ** ** **About the Position ** This is a hands-on laboratory role supporting the development of next-generation clean energy technology in a fast-paced R&D environment. As a Lab Technician, you'll work alongside engineers and scientists to fabricate, assemble, test, and validate advanced fuel cell components and systems while helping move innovative products from development toward commercialization. The ideal person enjoys working with their hands, learning new technical processes, and contributing across multiple areas of the lab. This role offers the opportunity to gain exposure to advanced manufacturing, materials processing, testing, and product development while working on technology that has the potential to transform the energy industry. **Responsibilities ** Perform hands-on laboratory work supporting fabrication, assembly, and processing of advanced fuel cell components Assist with material preparation, assembly, firing, processing, and post-processing activities Support laboratory testing, system integration, validation, and long-duration test programs Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, furnaces, test stands, tooling, and other process equipment Follow documented work instructions, quality procedures, and process controls while identifying opportunities for improvement Prepare materials, components, and assemblies for downstream testing and production activities Record experimental data, observations, and process documentation accurately and completely Communicate project status, issues, and handoffs clearly with engineers and team members Assist with troubleshooting equipment, process issues, and experimental failures Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment **Who You Are ** Enjoy hands-on technical work and solving practical problems Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities evolve Curious and eager to learn new equipment, processes, and technologies Dependable team player who communicates clearly and takes ownership of assigned work **Experience Requirements ** Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience Experience working in a laboratory, manufacturing, pilot production, or technical environment Comfortable following documented procedures while maintaining high quality standards Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation Ability to safely operate laboratory equipment and technical tools **What You Bring ** Hands-on laboratory or manufacturing experience Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new technical processes Ability to accurately document work and communicate results Flexible mindset with the ability to support multiple technical areas Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement **Preferred Qualifications ** Experience supporting R&D, prototype development, or pilot manufacturing Experience operating laboratory equipment, furnaces, or test systems Materials processing, manufacturing, or assembly experience Exposure to engineering documentation, testing, or quality systems Experience working in an early-stage or startup environment **What Success Looks Like ** **Reliable Execution **Laboratory work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule with minimal rework. **Quality & Documentation **Materials, test articles, and experimental results are consistently well-documented, traceable, and ready for downstream activities. **Operational Excellence **Equipment is maintained responsibly, issues are identified early, and laboratory operations remain organized and efficient. **Team Collaboration **Engineers and teammates can rely on clear communication, smooth handoffs, and consistent execution across changing project priorities. **Growth & Adaptability **You continue expanding your technical capabilities while supporting new processes, technologies, and product development efforts as the company grows. #J-18808-Ljbffr
