Machine Builder / Mechanical Assembler Location: Lake County, OH Shift: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch) Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour, based on experience Build Custom Machinery. Work with Your Hands. Take Pride in What You Create. Our client is seeking a skilled Machine Builder / Mechanical Assembler to join a growing manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building equipment from the ground up, working from blueprints, and using a variety of fabrication and assembly techniques. Responsibilities Assemble custom machinery and mechanical systems from engineering drawings and blueprints. Fit, align, and install structural components and mechanical assemblies. Perform sheet metal fabrication, including cutting, bending, and forming materials. Weld structural components using MIG and/or TIG welding processes. Operate fabrication equipment including saws, drill presses, tapping machines, and other shop tools. Inspect completed assemblies using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators. Troubleshoot mechanical fitment and alignment issues during the assembly process. Maintain a safe and organized work environment. Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of experience in machine building, mechanical assembly, or industrial fabrication. Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and engineering drawings. Experience with: MIG and/or TIG welding Sheet metal fabrication Band saws, chop saws, drill presses, and tapping equipment Precision measuring tools Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic systems. Technical training or apprenticeship in welding, fabrication, or machine building. Basic electrical assembly or panel mounting experience.
