Job Title: Registered Nurse I Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Duration: Direct Hire Shift: NOC - 7 PM to 7 AM Hours per Shift: 12 hours (36 hours/week) Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Critical Care Nursing experience License: Valid multi-state or state-based Registered Nurse License Certifications: Current or recent ICU/ER experience Must-Have: - Completed the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing as approved and verified by a state board of nursing. Description: The Registered Nurse I assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care. Utilizes the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures. Monitors and evaluates patient functional status. Documents steps of the nursing process. Utilizes proper medical terminology. Addresses problems and progress toward goals. Facilitates patient discharge through timely and appropriate referrals. Utilizes patient education resources suitable to patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors. Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate. Supports unit and hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities. Attends in-services and meets unit education standards. Completes variance reports. Exercises independent judgment in making decisions from diversified alternatives, subject to general review in final stages. Coordinates activities of others and leads others in the same work performed. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Interacts with internal customers both via telephone and face-to-face. Engages with external customers both via telephone and face-to-face. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals and staff. Frequently works with individuals at the director level or above. This position involves the essential functions of nursing practice and the physical demands required to perform the job effectively. Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are essential. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
