Job Details:


• Flexible shift schedule available including days (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM), mids (3:00 PM - 3:00 AM), or nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Schedule created on a 6-week cycle with self-scheduling
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience required; first-time travelers accepted with 2 years of ED experience
• Care for all ED patient types ranging from neonates to geriatrics
• Average patient load of 150 patients per 24 hours
• Patient ratio of 1:4-6 during days, flexing to 1:6 at night; 1:3 when fully staffed
• Patient types include stroke (TPA administration), DKA, trauma (GSW, MVC, elderly falls), geriatric psych, abdominal pain, STEMI, and heavy behavioral health population
• ICU holds with Electronic ICU RN capabilities
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC; CPI/MOAB, TCRN, TNS, and ENPC preferred
• Required skills: IV starts, assisting with chest tube insertion, medication titration (pressors, insulin, sedation), trauma experience, and stroke experience with TPA administration; ultrasound-guided IV preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must be proficient in drawing blood cultures without contamination; all agency staff are re-validated on this skill
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Ranger for massive transfusions
• No floating required

This is a Level 1 Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility with 273 beds, featuring a 44-bed emergency department with individual rooms, hallway beds, and cardiac chairs. The facility holds Primary Stroke Center designation and maintains a Level II NICU, offering comprehensive emergency services supported around the clock by ED physicians, mid-level providers, hospitalists, respiratory therapy, and specialized nursing roles including charge nurses, task RNs, alert RNs, and electronic ICU RNs.
