Job Title: LPN / LVN – Correctional Nursing

Location: Rome, NY
Job Type: Contract | 26–52 Weeks

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide healthcare services within a correctional facility setting. This role focuses on medication administration, patient assessments, emergency response, and maintaining quality clinical care while following facility and security protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and monitor compliance with treatment plans
• Perform patient assessments and record vital signs
• Conduct health screenings and monitor inmate health conditions
• Provide wound care and basic nursing treatments
• Respond to medical emergencies within the facility
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
• Monitor patient condition changes and report findings appropriately
• Follow correctional healthcare and facility security procedures
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to support quality patient care
• Maintain a safe and professional clinical environment

Requirements:

• Active New York State LPN License (or valid limited permit)
• Experience in Medical-Surgical, Ambulatory Care, Correctional Health, or Mental Health preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm during emergencies
• Comfortable working with a diverse patient population
• Ability to comply with correctional facility policies and security requirements

• In-person interview required (Monday–Friday at 3:00 PM)
• Phone or virtual interviews not accepted
• State criminal history clearance required before start (may take up to 4 weeks)
