We invite you to become part of our dedicated team at the Ireland Army Health Clinic located in Fort Knox, KY. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide care for military families in a modern healthcare environment, free from the typical administrative challenges and insurance issues found in private practice. You will be serving a grateful patient population that includes active-duty service members, their families, and retired veterans within a collaborative and advanced healthcare system.

Role: Family Physician

Operating Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

As a federal civilian healthcare provider, you will not need to carry medical malpractice liability insurance, as coverage is provided under the Federal Tort Claims Act while you are performing your duties.

Salary: Up to $315,000 annually

The clinic is named in honor of Major General Merritte W. Ireland, a distinguished figure in military medicine who served as the 23rd Surgeon General of the U.S. Army from 1918 to 1931. He played a crucial role during World War I as the Chief Surgeon of the American Expeditionary Forces and was a visionary reformer in establishing modern Army Medical Centers.

• Primary Care Optimization Lead: Deliver comprehensive outpatient care across all age groups, managing a diverse panel of patients from newborns to seniors, and addressing complex acute and chronic health issues.
• Subject Matter Expert: Provide essential clinical guidance to a multidisciplinary team, advising mid-level providers, nursing staff, and medical technicians on optimal care pathways and triage protocols.
• Patient-Centered Medical Home Model: Lead and facilitate care activities within your designated team, promoting a holistic approach to patient health, ensuring coordinated care, and enhancing patient satisfaction.
• Clinical Excellence and Compliance: Engage in ongoing medical education to remain updated on advancements, ensuring alignment with Defense Health Agency protocols and participating in training and peer-review activities.
• Emergency Medical Support: Act as a critical medical resource during local emergencies, prepared to provide immediate primary care and triage during mass casualty situations or severe crises.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or equivalent from an accredited institution in the U.S. or Canada. Foreign degrees must have verified U.S. equivalency (ECFMG, Fifth Pathway, or USMLE).
• Possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory.
• Completion of an accredited Family Practice residency program, along with a minimum of four (4) years of combined residency and professional clinical experience.
