Support Nutrition Services in achieving expectations outlined in the position job schedule, Acts of PRIDE, Operational Guidelines, USDA Guidelines, and Iowa Food Code.Job Title: Nutrition Services Team MemberHourly Wage:Cook I: $17.75/hourCook II: $18.25/hour - (ServSafe Certified)Cook III: $18.75/hour - (ServSafe Certified); (Preparing and Cooking Food)Hours: 8:30 AM - 2:00 PMReports To: Nutrition Services ManagementWage/Hour Status: Non-ExemptBenefit Summary: DMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED, preferredAbility to read basic operating instructionsDemonstrates a reasonable degree of computer proficiencyThis position requires that the individual is able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.Successful candidates are subject to post-offer pre-employment physical.Preferred Qualifications:Food service experience of at least one-yearHospitality industry cooking experience (Schools, Healthcare, Restaurant, Catering)Essential Functions:Provide EXCELLENT customer service to all people in accordance with department standardsServe menu items quickly and accurately to meet department standardsDependability, punctuality, and initiative are requiredCompletion of all mandatory trainings by required dateAppropriate hygiene and uniform required in accordance with operational guidelinesFood prep in accordance to standardized recipes while maintaining quality food standards including temperature, taste, and appearanceCleaning of all areas including but not limited to: Sweeping/mopping floors, washing tables, dishes, pots/pans and work areasSetting up and organizing all service areas according to department standardsResponsible for stocking, organizing, and completing inventory of assigned areas in compliance with FIFO (First-In First-Out) and department standardsAbility to setup and operate computer systemsAbility to maintain composure and problem solve in a fast paced environmentResponsible for knowing and executing food service best practices according to SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures)Responsible for filling out all appropriate paperwork in a timely manner including but not limited to: temperature logs and production usage recordsDevelop and maintain an effective level of communication with appropriate personnelOther Functions:Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned.Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work without close supervision.Demonstrates integrity and maintains confidentiality.Works well with others, maintaining positive and effective communication with all school personnel.Is respectful and appropriately interacts with staff, students, and visitors.Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the Ankeny Community School District safety program.Supports the goals and objectives of the school district and follows all district policies.Demonstrates the ability to attend work on a regular and routine basis to avoid disruption to nutrition operations.Perform all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or others.Performs other related duties, as assigned.Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.Performs other related duties, as assigned.Working Environment:Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: The usual and customary methods of performing the position functions require the following physical demands: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, reaching, driving, standing and walking. This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment. This position requires that the individual is able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Working conditions may include extreme temperatures and humidity. Hazards may include exposure to communicable diseases.
