Registered Nurse - Post Cardiac Catheterization

The Registered Nurse is a clinical practitioner responsible for coordinating and implementing patient care specific to the age of the patient population served in the assigned unit. The nurse will provide quality care efficiently and safely, ensuring adherence to the unit's standards of care while addressing the needs of post-cardiac catheterization and surgical patients on high-risk medication.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record initial patient assessments, establishing priorities according to patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
• Reassess patients systematically to identify progress and trends that require intervention.
• Develop and implement measurable individualized plans of care for patients within established timeframes.
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on the interpretation of facts and evaluations of patient outcomes, modifying the plan of care as necessary.
• Participate in health education and discharge planning for patients and significant others.
• Document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs and evaluate the plan of care.
• Perform various Point of Care testing procedures.

Required Experience and Certifications

• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.
• Current BLS certification from AHA.
• Current ACLS certification from AHA.
• Graduated from an accredited program for Registered Nursing.
• Current knowledge and skills appropriate to patient population served.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient.

Schedule

This position operates on a night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM.
