Job Summary

The Design Manager is responsible for design management for the company with a primary focus on mitigation of design risk.

Salary Range:

$150,000 - $200,000 annually

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee design management efforts with the company.
• Oversee design services (from pursuits and initial design through completion of construction) to ensure appropriate delivery of services and mitigate design risk.
• Oversee design document reviews for completeness and conformance with project requirements.
• Oversee the identification, engagement, and coordination of peer reviews for special systems where determined to be necessary.
• Oversee the coordination of design-assist, design-build, self-perform, and trade subcontractor participation with the design team to ensure timely input and preparation of trade documents, as necessary.
• Oversee the coordination of design with preparation of bid packages to support schedule and construction.
• Oversee contractual compliance reviews that shall identify deviations and assist in obtaining necessary approvals.
• Local and cross-regional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum four-year bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field of study.
• Licensed Architect or Engineer preferred.
• LEED Accredited Professional (AP) preferred.
• 10-15 years of experience in design and construction.
• Minimum 10 years of extensive experience working in all phases of design.

Physical Demands

Capable of traversing over construction-type terrain when under development; moving through the construction site and the materials in place for use on the site; climbing ladders and temporary stairways; conducting visual inspections of quality of construction and materials being used in construction. Conduct jobsite walks to ensure successful project completion. Conduct jobsite walks to identify and eliminate safety hazards.

Work Environment

BNB believes in collaboration, team building, and a strong supervisor/employee relationship. To accomplish this, the duties of this role are not performed in a remote capacity, and we expect that all employees will complete work in an office/job site setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at the job site. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
