Registered Veterinary Technician-Oncology

Overview Veterinary Cancer Group of SFV is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join our exceptional medical oncology team. We offer a $10,000 sign‑on bonus to eligible RVTs. The group was founded in 1992 and has grown to become one of the largest and most well‑renowned veterinary oncology groups in the world. We are celebrating 30 years in practice this year. Located in Woodland Hills, California, with additional sites throughout Southern California, we work in the same building as ACCESS, collaborating with advanced diagnostic, emergency and surgical services. Requirements Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience RVT license required Knowledge of veterinary medicine and terminology Prior chemotherapy experience desired, but willing to train the right candidate Strong verbal and written skills Strong attention to detail and follow‑through Ability to communicate calmly, clearly and effectively with both staff and clients Ability to handle high‑stress situations Willingness to cross‑train in other areas of the hospital Essential Job Duties Able to assess changes in hospitalized patients’ condition and advise the doctor, updating owners daily Able to perform venipuncture, place IV catheterization, and comfortably administer IV/IM/SQ injections Able to provide fluid therapy and drug calculations Experienced in animal handling and restraint Obtain, run and process diagnostic tests Administer and fill medications Proficient in catheterizations, including urinary, IV, and butterfly catheters Experienced in monitoring anesthesia, inducing and monitoring anesthesia, and recovering patients Able to facilitate the coordination of patient care Perform bone marrow aspirates, skin punch biopsies, and fine‑needle aspirates Perform MRI, CT, and assist in ultrasounds Assist with radiographs or hold for ultrasonography procedures Strong verbal communication skills to provide complex information kindly and understandably to clients Assist in patient procedures: exams, preparation of patients, presenting estimates and equipment Attention to detail in working with patients’ medical records Experience with Ezyvet is a plus, but not required Ability to work in a constantly evolving environment and multitask Light housekeeping duties and restocking of treatment supplies Perform other duties as assigned Hours & Compensation Full‑time; 10‑hour shifts. Must be available to work from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Rate of pay based on experience starting at $26–$30 per hour.
