Job Description

A global manufacturing client of Insight Global is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join their team onsite in Jefferson, GA. This individual will lead the monthly close and budgeting processes while overseeing two direct reports (Cost Accountants). Key responsibilities include managing inventory accounting, maintaining and enhancing the standard cost system, reconciling inventory-related general ledger accounts, developing operational metrics, and preparing journal entries and reports for the monthly financial close and operating book.\nAdditional responsibilities include generating backlog reports for management, developing monthly gross profit forecasts, supporting financial planning and budgeting activities, and assisting with periodic physical inventory counts across multiple locations. This individual will play a critical role in financial reporting, forecasting, profit margin analysis, and providing insights to support business decision-making.\n\nThis position offers a balance of hands-on execution and strategic contribution. The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, thrives in an environment where processes may not be fully established, and proactively drives process improvements. They will bring forward new ideas, help build and refine processes, and serve as a key partner in strengthening the overall accounting and finance function.
