Freelance Associate Technical Designer, KnitsWe're hiring a Freelance Associate Technical Designer for knits to join a NYC fashion team supporting product development from concept through production. As a Technical Designer, you will play a key role in ensuring consistent fit standards, evaluating garment construction, facilitating fit sessions, and communicating product updates with internal teams and vendors throughout the development process.Hourly pay rate is $31.00Responsibilities:Evaluate proto, fit, and production samples to ensure measurement accuracy, fit, quality, and construction standards are metLead and facilitate garment fit sessionsPartner closely with Design and Production teams to achieve desired fit and aesthetic goalsCommunicate fit comments, pattern corrections, and construction revisions to vendorsRepresent company standards for fit consistency and garment constructionCreate and maintain fit reports, sample tracking documents, and development recordsTrack sample status and ensure timely communication throughout the product lifecycleCollaborate cross-functionally with internal and external partners to support product development milestonesParticipate in in-person fittings, approvals, and product development meetings as business needs requireSupport additional projects and initiatives as assignedRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience2-3+ years of Technical Design experience within apparel or fashionStrong patternmaking skills requiredKnits experience preferredThorough understanding of garment construction, fit, and product development processesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProven ability to work collaboratively across Design, Production, Merchandising, and Vendor teamsStrong organizational skills with attention to detailProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteIf you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.The Solomon Page DistinctionSolomon Page offers a comprehensive benefit program for hourly employees.
