This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of the evolving energy production landscape.RRC CORE VALUESMust understand and personify RRC’s core values:Client Satisfaction – understands the goal of always exceeding our client’s expectationsEmployee Happiness – able to work well with others, communicate clearly with coworkers, promote a positive work environment, and mediate conflicts between team membersQuality Work - able to take ownership, work independently, prioritize workload, and deliver quality results on time while working on multiple projects simultaneouslyAbove and Beyond - versatile, flexible, able to anticipate the needs of the company, take the initiative, and willing to go out of your way to assist othersESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESApply electrical engineering principles to the design and development of utility-scale solar PV systemsPrepare complete electrical design packages, including one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, collection system layouts, grounding plans, equipment specifications, and construction detailsDesign and support medium voltage and low voltage systems for solar generation facilities, including inverters, transformers, and interconnection infrastructurePerform electrical calculations such as voltage drop, short circuit, cable sizing, grounding analysis, and equipment rating selectionEnsure designs comply with project requirements, applicable codes, industry standards, and safety regulationsSupport interconnection design activities, including coordination with utilities and preparation of technical documentationReview and validate design documents and vendor submittals for accuracy, completeness, and complianceCoordinate with internal teams including engineers, designers, and project managers to support project execution and resolve issuesInterface with clients on routine technical mattersContribute to maintaining project budgets, schedules, and quality standardsParticipate in value engineering efforts to optimize cost-effective and efficient design solutionsConduct occasional site visits to support construction, commissioning, and field activitiesContribute to the development and improvement of internal standards, tools, and processesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Engineering, or related fieldMaster’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Engineering, or related field preferredEngineer-in-Training (EIT) designation required; Professional Engineering registration license or ability to obtain license5+ years of relevant engineering experience in power systems, solar PV, or renewable energy projectsMust be authorized for full-time work in the United States or CanadaWorking knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE, etc.)Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and WordExperience with design and analysis tools such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, SKM, CYMCAP, PVsyst, or similar softwareStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsEffective written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interface with internal teams and clientsAbility to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, fast-paced team environmentAbility to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines with minimal supervisionWillingness to travel to project sites as needed (~10%)BENEFITSRRC is committed to investing in talented employees because we recognize that healthy, happy employees provide the best path to sustaining a successful business.
