Position Overview
The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking temporary Receptionists/Secretaries to assist at DMV offices throughout the Mid-Hudson Region.
Worksite Locations
- Yonkers district office address: 1 Larkin Plaza, Yonkers, NY 10701
- Peekskill district office address: 1045 Park St, Peekskill, NY 10566
- White Plains district office address: 1 Maple Ave, White Plains, NY 10601
- West Haverstraw district office address: 50 Samsondale Plz, West Haverstraw, NY 10993
Job Duties
- Greet and assist customers.
- Screen and process customer paperwork.
- Manage customer flow using the queuing system.
- Grade and record results of vision tests.
- Enter passing vision test results into the computer system.
- Provide guidance to customers using DMV self-service kiosks.
- Capture customer photos for driver's licenses.
- Proctor various DMV tests.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to learn windows based applications, and vendor based application to issue eye exams, check in customers, and screen paperwork.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a New York State Agency.
- Familiarity with DMV operations or customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
Misc. Info
- Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
- Interview will be conducted in-person.
