Speech Language Pathologist

Overview MHH Clinical Services PLLC, founded in 1999, provides comprehensive clinical services to individuals with developmental disabilities and the broader community. The organization offers long-term mental health, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language services to children and adults. As an OPWDD-approved vendor and IPSIDD provider, MHH delivers evaluations and therapeutic interventions for diverse age groups, including individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The multi-disciplinary practice also provides dysphagia evaluation and therapy, psychotherapy, psychological and psychosocial assessments, audiological services, nutritional counseling, and nursing services. MHH is committed to collaborative, person-centered care that supports functional communication, independence, and quality of life. Responsibilities Provide evaluation and treatment services for individuals across the lifespan with a focus on communication and swallowing disorders in the New York City Metropolitan Area. Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and dysphagia assessments. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and document progress in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards. Deliver direct therapy sessions and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members. Communicate with families and caregivers to support carryover of skills in home and community settings. Participate in care planning, contribute to clinical reports, and maintain accurate and timely documentation. Support best practices by staying current with evidence-based approaches and relevant regulations for individuals with developmental disabilities and other populations served. Qualifications Demonstrated skills in speech therapy and speech assessment and intervention for diverse age groups. Experience addressing communication disorders and language disorders through individualized treatment plans. Competence in evaluating and treating dysphagia, including swallow assessments and therapeutic interventions. Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program and current state licensure (or eligibility) as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or willingness to obtain, as applicable. Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in clinical or educational settings is highly beneficial. Strong interpersonal, documentation, and time-management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
