Position: Pipelayer Department: Site Services Team Category of Employment: Full-Time Payroll Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt Work Hours: Varies based on business demand; schedule may include nights and weekends Note to Applicants All applicants should currently reside in the Middle Georgia area. These positions are based in Macon, Georgia, and all operations will be run locally. Applications from outside the region may not be considered to avoid confusion regarding relocation or travel. The Pipelayer at First Environmental plays a hands‑on role in utility installation projects by preparing trenches, aligning pipe sections, and ensuring proper fit and grade. This role supports the company’s mission: to fix our customers’ problems and make them happy. Requirements Acceptable past work history Acceptable security background record Acceptable driving record (as reviewed by insurance provider) Pass a complete pre‑employment physical exam, including DOT physical Pass pre‑employment drug and alcohol screening Ability to lift 75 lbs. repeatedly Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, and lift repeatedly Willingness to perform manual labor in various outdoor conditions Ability to follow directions and work well within a team Self‑motivated with a positive attitude Ability to understand and follow safety procedures and training Duties / Responsibilities Lay and align pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains Grade and level trenches using lasers, transits, and hand tools Cut, fit, and seal joints in pipe sections using hand tools or power tools Signal operators to position pipe or adjust alignment as needed Backfill completed pipe systems and compact soil using appropriate tools Support the crew and Foreman with general labor as assigned Maintain a clean and safe work environment Compensation Hourly, non‑exempt position Pay based on experience and qualifications #J-18808-Ljbffr
