Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive speech-language and swallowing assessments for medically stable adult patients in the acute care setting.
- Proficiently conduct MBSS (Modified Barium Swallow Studies) to evaluate swallowing function and guide treatment decisions.
- Develop, implement, and document evidence-based treatment plans; monitor progress and adjust as needed.
- Provide bedside therapy for adults, educate patients and families, and contribute to discharge planning and care coordination.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members (physicians, nurses, dietitians, social work) and participate in rounds to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Participate in weekend rotation and cross-unit coverage as required to support patient care needs.

Requirements
- License: Current nursing license per the state of assignment (as noted in job notes)
- Certifications: Current BLS certification
- Experience: At least two years of recent field experience; two years of acute-care experience with adults (one year may be considered if an acute-care internship was completed)
- Specialized skills: Proficiency in conducting MBSS
- Setting readiness: Ability to work effectively in an acute care environment and to float between units as needed
- Additional notes: Weekend rotation is required; assignment may involve cross-site coverage within the defined travel assignment
