Senior Private Banker

Overview Develops, manages, retains and grows profitable banking relationships with high-net-worth clients and prospects. Assists in designing, developing and delivering solutions that meet complex balance sheet management needs while providing expert service and highly personalized interaction. Works with branch and regional teams to identify referrals and expand visibility in the marketplace. Acts as a trusted advisor and collaborates with client professionals to structure credit and tax-favourable solutions. Applies financial planning concepts to inform client planning strategies and supports strategic initiatives with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities Develops and executes a business plan to profitably grow overall banking revenue while adhering to the bank’s risk tolerance. Leads deal teams to meet client needs when acting as the lead relationship manager and manages retention/expansion through a client contact strategy and ongoing reviews. Proactively develops internal and external networks for referrals and creates visibility in the marketplace. Provides superior service to an assigned portfolio of high- and ultra-high-net-worth clients and maintains relationships as a trusted advisor. Leads and participates in credit strategy development, negotiates complex credit structures, and ensures appropriate remuneration. Supports execution of strategic initiatives, analyzes data, and provides insights and recommendations to senior leadership. Maintains knowledge of financial planning principles and integrates them into client planning strategies. Ensures documentation and compliance, monitors risk, and resolves issues through audits and quality checks. Delivers day-to-day training and guidance on credit-related issues, client issues, and operational processes as needed. Acts as an ambassador to enhance the organization’s reputation and adheres to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements including anti-money laundering, privacy, and disclosures of outside activities. Qualifications Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must meet licensing and certification requirements for the applicable team/branch/jurisdiction; credit qualifications and knowledge of Personal and Commercial credit products. Strong sales, client service, business development, and relationship management skills; ability to lead in-depth planning conversations. Analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making abilities with the capacity to work independently and resolve complex or ambiguous issues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate across groups and stakeholders. Other U.S. regulatory note: This position may involve originator responsibilities for consumer loans under applicable laws; may require Federal registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry and a background/credit review. Salary range: $122,400.00 – $228,000.00; Salary type: Salaried (commissions may apply for certain roles).
