We are currently seeking a senior-level Maintenance Technician III for our client location in New Jersey. Operating under minimal supervision, this role serves as the premier technical authority and floor leader for facility maintenance operations within a high-volume cold storage environment. The ideal candidate will combine elite electromechanical troubleshooting skills with a passion for mentoring junior team members, driving equipment reliability, and upholding rigorous food safety standards.

Core Responsibilities

Advanced Technical Execution

• Complex Troubleshooting: Diagnose, isolate, and repair critical failures across production machinery, complex HVAC/refrigeration units, and heavy industrial hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

• Automation & PLCs: Use PLC systems and digital logic to troubleshoot automated components, modify parameters as needed, and resolve complex control circuit failures.

• Technical Escalation: Serve as the definitive floor escalation point for emergency breakdowns that exceed the technical capabilities of Technician I and II staff.

• Blueprint Interpretation: Read, interpret, and work directly from advanced industrial circuit diagrams, blueprints, and engineering schematics to guide complex system overhauls.

Leadership & Preventive Maintenance

• Mentorship: Provide daily hands-on guidance, technical coaching, and on-the-job training to junior technicians to bridge team skill gaps.

• PM Optimization: Assist the Maintenance Manager in refining the site’s preventive/predictive maintenance (PM) program, updating task lists, and logging precise records in the CMMS.

• Root Cause Analysis: Lead post-incident investigations for major equipment failures and implement long-term technical countermeasures to maximize facility uptime.

Safety & Regulatory Compliance

• Safety Standards: Model and enforce strict adherence to OSHA standards, proper PPE usage, and rigorous Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.

• Food Safety Integration: Maintain clean, compliant workspaces in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and support the Food Safety team during high-stakes SQF and GFSI regulatory audits.

Key Requirements

• Experience: 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience, with a minimum of 2 years spent operating in a senior, lead, or technical escalation capacity.

• Technical Mastery: Demonstrated, verifiable expertise in power blueprint reading, PLC systems, digital logic, and electromechanics.

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; an Associate’s degree, vocational training, or journeyman-level technical certifications are highly preferred.

• Physical Stamina: Comfort working extensively in cold storage temperatures (33&degree;F–50&degree;F), climbing, crouching, and lifting up to 75 lbs unaided.

• Language: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred to optimize team training and communication.

• Seasonal Availability: Complete schedule flexibility during peak summer months, including the capacity to work a 7-day work week with extended daily hours scheduled between 5:30 AM and 8:00 PM.
